Bruce Hoult

I am a computer programmer currently living in the Far North of New Zealand.
  • I'm currently figuring out what is next. I think some personal projects for the moment (maybe until COVID-19 clears up), but am interested in hearing about (especially) RISC-V related projects or jobs.
  • From March 2018 until February 2020 I was working for SiFive in San Mateo, CA on RISC-V development tools, and also was (and remain) a member of the working groups designing the RISC-V Bitmanip and Vector extensions.
  • From April 2015 until March 2018 I was at Samsung R&D Institute Rus in Moscow.
  • Earlier adventures included the JavaScript team at Mozilla, a Java-to-Native compiler at Innaworks, and helping with the Gwydion open source compiler for the Dylan programming language and using it to compete in the ICFP Programming Contest, with some success.
  • I enjoy flying gliders/sailplanes, mostly at the Wellington Gliding Club
